Posting Comments »Comments Held For Moderation

If you receive the message that “Your comment must be approved by the site admins before it will appear publicly” after you post a comment, then this means that your comment was automatically flagged for moderation by the website owners for any number of reasons. Possible reasons are:

  1. The site admins require all comments to be manually approved by them before they are displayed.
  2. Your comment contained a keyword that has been added to the moderation keyword list by the site administrators. These filters are setup and controlled by the website admins. Any comment containing a moderation keyword is automatically removed and held for moderation.

Please note: IntenseDebate only provides the commenting software. Website administrators control all content on their website including comments left on their site. They decide which comments are displayed and which comments are removed. We DO NOT play a role in determining which comments are removed on websites using IntenseDebate, unless they are in direct violation of our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.

Again, we only provide the software and have nothing to do with determining which comments are posted. If you would like to make an appeal, please feel free to get in contact with the site admins with any content disputes. You’ll be able to contact them if they have a “Contact Us” area on their site. If you are unable to contact the website admins, please get in contact with us and let us know what website you comment on and what your username is. We will forward your request to the website admins, but it is up to them.
